Anne M. Stey, M.D., MSc received her medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine of New York University. After witnessing disparities in care in New York City she took a year to study International Health Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She completed general surgery residency at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York and subsequently did a year long clinical fellowship in Pediatric Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Her interests include economic analysis, quality improvement and equity in access to surgical services. She gained particular experience in the field of health services research as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar where she worked on identifying sources of variation in cost of surgical care and the relationship between cost and quality of care.
