Clinical Excellence, Compassionate Care & Innovative Research: Taught by Example

The University of California, San Francisco Department of Surgery at San Francisco General Hospital provides surgical services for the benefit of our patients and professional colleagues twenty-four hours each day, seven days a week. Our Trauma Center excels in the care of patients with injuries, burns, complex wounds, surgical infections and patients requiring surgical critical care. The faculty are also pleased to offer a full range of outpatient and inpatient elective general surgical services, including: specialty clinics in the fields of Endocrine Surgery, Breast Surgery, Hand Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Proctology, Thoracic Surgery, Trauma and Vascular Surgery. Keeping pace with modern innovations, we also offer a wide range of Minimally Invasive Surgery services with laparoscopy and thoracoscopy.

The Surgeons at SFGH are dedicated to providing thoughtful consultation to our referring colleagues and state-of-the-art surgical care to our patients. All of our faculty are certified by the American Board of Surgery and many hold one or more additional specialty Board Certificates.
